One of the topics that I discuss the most with the people I work with is how to follow their dreams and live an amazing life. But it is not easy.

Through the journey of the past 46 years I have learned much about what works in my life and what doesn’t. Usually I learned what doesn’t work because I have made so many mistakes and made so many shit decisions along the way. Looking back the majority of the time that I made a mess of things was because I went totally against what I KNEW was the right thing for me to do.

When you develop the courage to not give a shit what other people think and you launch out to chase your dreams in your life only then do you have the chance at living a life full of happiness and fulfillment. Only when I had the guts to go after what looked totally unattainable did I begin to enjoy my life more than I knew I could, it still isn’t easy but it’s totally worth it.

So why do most people live a very normal, mediocre and unremarkable life? It’s because they are terrified of actually going after what they want and not getting there and feeling the crippling disappointment and sadness that follows. What if there was another way to look at this that can have you more willing to go after the things in your life that you really want.

When you look at the journey of your life, instead of the destination of your dreams, then it is a far more enjoyable experience. I now look at everything that happens in my life, both good and bad, as part of the journey towards the best version of me I can be. I am no longer fearful of not fulfilling my dreams because my dreams aren’t written in stone.

The biggest dream I have in my life now is to live my purpose. My Purpose is “To help people and make a difference.” When you can identify what the purpose of your life is you will live a far happier and more fulfilled life. More on that in another blog.

When you can live your life as if you are on a journey, not trying to get to a destination, but enjoying every step along the way then you will live a far happier and more enjoyable experience. When you can learn from everything that happens in your life and use these lessons to help you evolve and grow as a person then the journey is far more important than any destination.

Walk through the journey of your life realising that every happy, sad, exciting, devastating, disappointing and fulfilling experience is just another step on the journey of your life. When you finally reach the final minutes of your life you will look back and at that time I hope that you are content and happy with the person you have been every step along the way.

Live without limits and die without regrets.
